Moving the Paralytic
Problem:
I guess the latest season in my life has led me to discouragement. I saw some pain that I went out to go heal. I told the paralytic to get up and walk. Nothing happened. I put my hands on his arms in legs and told him he was healed. Nothing happened. I opened the elements of my entire life to to be filled with this brokenness. My mind is consumed to a point where I have become worn out and drenched with angst. But still... nothing has happened.
There's the one saying we've all heard about the horse and leading it to water... How can we help those spiritually paralyzed get up and walk? I don't know how. I've tried to a level that's only hurt my own life, without any positive result; only further negative to even the paralytic who's disappointed at my failure and resulting frustration.
Solution?: (Mark 2:1-13)
It took the might of 4 men to lift a paralyzed man down into the open roof of a building that Yeshua, the Messiah was in. I look at what the broken man did... until later healed... he didn't do anything. No improvement. Obviously not, defining the meaning of the word paralytic. "And Jesus seeing their faith (the men helping the paralytic) said to the paralytic, "My son, your sins are forgiven."
As He was challenged by those around, He took it further, to fulfill the picture of the spiritual crossing into the natural. "Why are you reasoning about these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, Your sins are forgiven'; or to say, 'Arise, and take up your pallet and walk'? But in order that you may know the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"-- He said to the paralytic-- "I say to you, rise, take up your pallet and go home".
We then see the result of the faith of the ones willing to carry one who cannot move themselves: "And he rose and immediately rook up the pallet and went out in the sight of all; so that they were all amazed and were glorifying God, saying "We have never seen anything like this."
Self-Encouragement:
Christ was pleased by the men showing how much they believed the power of Yeshua could heal the paralytic even through their hard work in getting him there. The men saw no improvement as things escalated from carrying him down the road, to pulling him onto a roof, to destroying a spot large enough to fit a pallet through, and even to lowering a heavy man safely down to the ground.
I need the endurance to help the paralyzed spirit even without result. Even as it gets harder and harder. When the Savior works His power, the result will be something that people will say to God "We have never seen anything like this", glorifying Him with amazement.
It's worth it all. This is all my heart cares about.
